Nega Rock is for me a dream come true. I have had this story inside my head about the USA after the next great civil war, and what it would be like. I hope it never happens, but the story deals with the splitting of the races, and how it effects a little boy and a legend.

Now, some might say that Nega Rock is prejudice, but that is not the case. Nega Rock represents a feeling of " Change". The entire story comes from the early 80s, when I was in grade school, and I noticed that there was alot of racial prejudice going on. I thought that people should just learn to live with one another and not let there color differences get in their way, but as you know people will be people. So one night I was watching the Public T.V. and an idea hit me to make-up a story about what people would do if there was a crisis. I found out that people in certain situations tend to leave their fears aside.

So I wrote the entire story that night, and needless to say the entire story sounded good but it had some loop holes that needed to be reworked. After my tour in the U.S. Navy I decided that I would rework the story starting from the time Larin is seperated from his mother. That undertaking took some time but needless to say I got the entire thing done, i about a two year time frame. Nega Rock for me represented a milestone in that is was different from the other stories of equality out there, and the story had the kinda' action I liked in comics, but there was something that was missing. It took another three years for me to find that something, and after that time I found it.

That something was the images that would go with the story itself. I decided to atten school to further my drawing capabilities and I did. That is what you have in front of you now.
